Strategy research & paper trading
The saved backtest lagged buy-and-hold in this sample. I made signals, Alpaca paper orders, data checks, and risk monitoring traceable, so research runs can be reviewed consistently.
Hi, I’m Kecheng. I earned my master’s in Mathematics of Finance at Columbia, where I was a teaching assistant for Machine Learning for Finance. At Numeraxial in New York, I build Python and SQL workflows for market data and cross-asset portfolio research.
I enjoy turning an idea into a careful test and explaining what the evidence shows. Outside work, I’m a 2300-rated blitz chess player.

02 Numeraxial · Professional research
Consistent inputs made portfolio comparisons repeatable. At Numeraxial, I standardized Bloomberg data and saved research settings to compare allocations, turnover, drawdowns, and risk contributions under the same constraints.
03 Columbia · Academic project
Portfolio risk needs both factor and stock-specific components. I compared regression and neural-network estimates, then used those components to calculate portfolio weights. Reproducing the notebook requires inputs not included in the public repository.
04 CQF · Academic study
Same-day labels and feature selection before splitting limit forecasting claims. I compared feature-selection and XGBoost tuning methods. A next-day study needs a shifted target and selection fitted only on training data.
Standardized market data and built reusable research tools to compare market regimes and portfolio allocations under constraints. Project details
Tested EMA–ADX and Z-score cryptocurrency strategies, evaluating parameter sensitivity, trading costs, turnover, value at risk (VaR), and drawdowns.
